Sometimes you just need to break away, get off the road, and you want the right vehicle to get you there. Thankfully, Jay Hatfield Chevrolet, your local Chevrolet Colorado dealer, has you covered with such powerhouses as the midsize Colorado with its ZR2 off-roading trim option that’s always ready when you are. From mountain tops to deep country roads, it’ll take you not only where you need to be, but where you want to be, with power and durability that only Chevy can deliver, to meet any adventure head-on. Whether you’re looking for a weekend of relaxation or have other plans, Chevy’s got you covered with its full line of trucks, SUVs, and crossovers that wants to take you there with options and features to fit any lifestyle and any passion—taking you off the beaten path, out into nature, and on to your next adventure.

Off Road

Stuck in a rut? Looking to get away from it all? Like really get away? Then you don’t want to wonder if your truck will be able to get you there. With its rugged reputation and stand-out style, the Colorado midsize truck from Chevy will take care of any worries. Handling whatever extremes nature decides to throw at it with an ease only a Chevy truck could deliver.

The impressive midsize truck has a towing capacity of up to 7,700 lbs when equipped with the diesel engine and appropriate features, making it easy to add a trailer or boat to bring along. Plus, the Colorado has a model that is specifically geared towards off-roading called the ZR2. This model touts a standard 3.6L V6 engine for that extra boost of assurance when tracking over punishing conditions like rutted lanes and rocky sands that would normally leave other vehicles in the lurch.

So if you’re looking to take your adventure to the next level, the Chevy Colorado ZR2 can get you there, no problem. While this model comes standard with the V6 engine, there’s an option for a 2.8L diesel engine. The ZR2 also includes suspension dampers, four-wheel drive, and all-terrain tires that are slightly larger than other Colorado models, making it so that the ZR2 can tackle virtually any type of terrain. So whether you find yourself on those muddy, unknown trails for work or play, Chevy’s trucks will give you the confidence to push on and explore further than ever before.

Need more assurance? The Colorado ZR2 was the only midsize truck to complete and finish the “Vegas to Reno” race in 2017. The course, stretching 539 miles, took the truck over jagged and unforgiving terrain, making it one of the only 204 out of 336 vehicles to finish the entire trek across the desert from Las Vegas to Reno.

Weekend Warrior

Looking for a vehicle to not only get you around the city during a workweek but doubles as an off-road vehicle for that family camping weekend adventure? Then the Chevy Tahoe Z71 has your back, delivering both style and convenience. Perfect for trekking to national parks and along the shoreline, the 7-8 passenger SUV is perfect for when you and your family want that little extra boost of fun and ease of control without any of the worries. So you can just enjoy the ride and see where the road takes you.

The Chevy Tahoe is one of the best full-size SUVs on the market, and you’ll bet the power matches up to the hype. It comes standard with a 5.3L V8 engine and optional four-wheel drive, which would come in handy on those muddy back roads and rocky mountain roads. But being rugged doesn’t mean it skimps on comfort, with a roomy interior and plenty of cargo space starting at 25.5 cubic feet in the back and up to 122.9 cubic feet when all seats are folded down, leaving plenty of space for camping gear and family without compromise.

Big Adventure

Known for being one of the biggest SUVs on the market, the Chevy Suburban is ready to go when you are. The large family SUV will hold all that you need and more. With up to 144.7 cubic feet, it’s considered best-in-class when it comes to cargo room, so you’ll never have to choose between what you need and what you want.

Available with various trim options, you’ll be able to find a style that fits your lifestyle. From the High Country that comes equipped with features like adaptive suspension and all-season tires to the Z71 with its all-terrain tires and optional Four-Corner Air Ride Adaptive Suspension, it’s easier to go farther, reach higher than ever before. And with all that extra cargo room, camping solo or with a partner has never been easier with many adventures simply parking, folding down the back seats, and rolling out their sleeping bags in the back for a comfy and easy night’s rest. The possibilities for an unforgettable trip with the Chevy Suburban are endless for family and solo wanderers alike.

A Trail Blazer

For those looking for a fun, easy weekend of camping near the lake, or a drive down some quiet country roads, look no further than the easy to maneuver, sporty Blazer RS. While not as large and rugged as other members of the Chevrolet family, it gets the job done on dirt roads and campgrounds. The Blazer RS is a great midsize crossover for someone looking to just relax, take in the scenery, and get into nature without worrying if your vehicle will leave you stuck in the mud.

The RS comes with a standard 3.6L V6 engine. This engine puts out 308 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque, which should be plenty of power to get you over and through whatever obstacles stand in your way. The crossover carries an understated yet eye-catching compact style while giving the driver plenty of interior space for lengthy drives. Along with cargo room in the back of 30.5 cubic feet or a generous 64.2 cubic feet in total, there’s enough space for a weekend of hiking, camping, or just a spontaneous trip to the country.

The Chevy Off-Road Concept

Chevy decided to have a bit of fun at the 2021 SEMA show in Las Vegas with the introduction of their high-performance off-road concept. A post-apocalyptic Mad Max-style looking off-road desert hopping modified Chevy Silverado-SUV looking hybrid vehicle was fitted with a V8 and doling out 650 units of horsepower. Its suspension and drive gave even Jeep a run for its money when it came to off-roading capabilities, making it ready for the most rugged of landscapes from desert to mountains. While this vehicle is merely a concept vehicle at the moment, it’s suspected (or at least hoped) that Chevy may take it a step further in the future, producing a model to compete in the ever-growing off-roading market among makes such as the Ford Raptor, the Jeep Wrangler, and the Ram TRX.

Wherever You Go

Whether full or midsize, truck or SUV, Chevy dares you to dream of the farthest, most remote location and then challenges you to go there. Whether for a weekend getaway or a spontaneous trek, seek out the two-lane trail, the twisting mountain lane, get out of your comfort zone in comfort and style. Take the road less traveled with the convenience and confidence you would expect only from Chevy.
